3 Saree Trends That Will Go Strong in 2018

One thing that never goes out of fashion is a saree- it never changes. It is really hard to go wrong with this gorgeous six yards of cloth that can be morphed into any silhouette- be it traditional or incredibly modern. The beauty lies in what material you are wearing and how you style it.

With youngsters being more and more fashion conscious, they have decided to take on the traditional clothes to give it a twist of their own. That saris flatter women of all ages is a fact and is something that attracts people so much. A great part of the same is that women do not exactly have to overhaul their closet to buy new sarees, they can simply be revamped without making much effort, except for learning a few draping techniques. Here are some of the ways you can build a closet of sarees that you will never get tired of-

New Textures:

If you are reading this post, then you are most likely a fashion enthusiast. And for fashion enthusiasts, there is only one thing to say- experiment. With sarees, you can do so by experimenting with a number of fabrics with varying textures. Art silk sarees online, paper silks, organza, gossamer tissue, satin, jutes- these are only some of the textures you can venture into when you are experimenting. In fact, a varying grain adds character to the saree that you wouldn’t have expected otherwise. Thus, if you start experimenting, don’t just stop at the the kind of fabric, but also try out different kinds of weaves and finishes.

Wedding Silk:

Many of you might wonder- “What in the world is a wedding silk?”. Fret not because it is no different from your regular silk, but it definitely has more work done to it. There is no doubt that big fat Indian weddings are worth all the fatigue it brings by the end of it, but this is an event where you can go all out and dress up as much as you want. In such a case, you can try wearing a readymade lehenga choli made of heavy silk or you can experiment with a silk saree. Either way, it will end up looking incredibly gorgeous. All you need to do is get trendy blouses or reinvent your traditional ones, all the while experimenting with draping styles.

Pristine Whites:

Generally, it is not considered auspicious for Indians to wear white unless it is clubbed with a red or a maroon, or a colour that is bound to pop out. That is probably why you don’t find that many options when it comes to plain whites. The recommendation, however, would be that you should shun the superstitions, be bold and drape around yourself pristine whites. After all, the ruling palette for 2018 will be whites, greys, and pastels.
